C4C Co-Signs Joint Statement on Preserving Net Neutrality in the Upcoming Digital Networks Act

Along with 83 organisations, the Coalition for Creativity (C4C) co-signed a joint statement on preserving net neutrality in the European Commission’s upcoming Digital Networks Act (DNA) proposal.

This is an important effort, supported by a broad-based set of stakeholders, to protect the Open Internet and take a firm stand against (concealed) network fees creeping into DNA.

Read our recent blog post, which outlines why the EC’s focus on creating a “level playing field” could lead to regulatory capture and a threat to the Open Internet.

The EC’s vague ideas of “cooperation” and “innovation” could lead to:

  • Forced payments from content providers to telecoms
  • Dilution of net neutrality through loopholes
  • Regulatory bodies arbitrating financial flows, not defending users

C4C’s message: We must reject any “clarification” that enables pay-to-play models and reinforce net neutrality for all.
